South Africa is a country on the southernmost tip of the African continent, marked by several distinct ecosystems. The Western Cape offers beaches, lush winelands around Stellenbosch and Paarl, craggy cliffs at the Cape of Good Hope, forest and lagoons along the Garden Route, and the city of Cape Town, beneath flat-topped Table Mountain.

South Africa has a temperate and pleasant climate, with warm sunny days most of the year.

South Africans have been referred to as the ‘rainbow nation’, a title which illuminates the country’s cultural diversity.

Day 0: Today take your flight to Cape Town.
Day 01: Welcome to Cape Town- South Africa

Meet your KareVoyage travel buddy at the airport.

A warm welcome to Cape Town, be greeted by your local guide.  Once you have exchanged the pleasantries you will proceed to board your vehicle for a private transfer to the hotel situated in the heart of Cape Town City.  

Spend the day at the V&A Waterfront and option for lunch at the hotel or one of the outdoor restaurants.

Spend the evening resting at your own leisure.

Group will meet for a welcome dinner.

Day 02: Cape Town- City Tour

Today enjoy a wide selection at breakfast before departing for a Half Day city tour of Cape Town – explore this beautiful city with Lunch at a Bo Kaap restaurant and a walk about through the amazing colourful houses – your guide will drive through the city pointing out some really interesting facts, history and stories. You will stop at Table Mountain base – where you will proceed by cable car (weather permitting on the day) to the top of the 7 Natural Wonders, amazing Cape Town City view is what you can find when you reach the top. After Table Mountain, you will proceed to Cape Town City for a drive by Company Gardens.

 After the tour you will proceed back to the hotel.

The rest of the afternoon will be at your own leisure, you can choose from a wide range of optional activities and excursions that Cape Town has to offer.

  • Table Mountain

Without a doubt it is Table Mountain that makes Cape Town the unique city it is. Rising up over 1000m above sea level, it is the icon that makes Cape Town instantly recognizable. It is a symbol, a playground, a spiritual retreat and a big draw card for tourists. So intertwined with the identity of Cape Town is Table Mountain that a visit to the city isn’t complete without having walked or taken the cable car to the top.

  • Bo Kaap

The colourful suburb of Bo Kaap was exclusively for coloured Muslims during the Colonial and Apartheid times and today, this group still makes up the majority of residents. The quaint cobbled streets, the museum, the authentic purveyors of Cape cuisine and Cape Town’s oldest spice emporium are all worth a visit.

  • Company Gardens

The Company Gardens is a treed haven in the middle of the city and is surrounded by museums and fascinating buildings – St Georges Cathedral, the Salve Museum, The National Art Gallery and the Jewish Museum to mention a few.

Day 03: Cape Town- Full day Private Tour of the Cape Peninsula

After breakfast meet your guide and embark on a full day touring of the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula.

Drive along the Atlantic Sea Board passing the beautiful beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay

Chapman’s Peak Drive – known as one of the World’s most beautiful drives

Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point – most South Western point of Africa and the southern tip of the Cape Peninsula, spectacular scenery

False Bay Coastal Road – look out for whales between June and November

Simon’s Town – home to South Africa’s Naval Base

Picturesque drive past Kalk Bay and Muizenber 

 The rest of the afternoon will be at your own leisure.

After the tour you will proceed back to the hotel and spend the rest of the evening at your own leisure. 

Dinner will be served at a restaurant with return transfers to and from the hotel.  

Day 04: Cape Town to Hermanus

After breakfast and check out – you will be met and be privately transferred to Hermanus via a wine tasting to Spier which is situated in the Stellenbosch valley.

Situated just 140 kilometres from Cape Town and built between the beautiful shores of Walker Bay, Hermanus has grown from a small seaside resort town to become arguably the best-known place for whale watching in the world. This town is also famed for its natural scenic beauty, featuring long stretches of pristine beaches. Today, Hermanus is more than just a popular holiday destination and offers all kinds of activities, both energetic and relaxing.

Day 05: Hermanus to Knysna

In the morning have a leisurely breakfast.

After breakfast check-out and meet for a private transfer to Knysna, with an option with lunch either at the hotel or one of the cafés in Knysna. 

Sandwiched between the towering Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Knysna is a large town often referred to as the ‘Garden of Eden’, surrounded by stunning bays perfect for sailing, boating, and swimming; picturesque beaches and lagoons; and world-renowned forests. This well-catered town is also a perfect base for safari expeditions at nearby parks such as Knysna Elephant Park, and close-up animal experiences at centres such as Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary, Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness Centre, Birds of Eden, and Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary.

Visitors can also look forward to an array of wonderful markets, a picturesque waterfront filled with superb restaurants and shops, and several fantastic art galleries. Make sure to take a ferry trip to the famed Knysna Heads and sample the local oysters.

This evening the group will enjoy the sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon (weather permitting).

Dinner will be served at a restaurant with return transfers to and from the hotel.

Day 06: Knysna

After breakfast you will be met by your guide and embark on a full day touring of the Ostrich Capital.

The day will be spent in many of the attractions that this historical town has to offer, lunch suggestion at either Cango Wildlife Ranch or Safari Ostrich Farm.

For dinner in the evening, you will have the option to dine at one of the Knysna Waterfront.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Cango Caves –are located in Precambrian limestones at the foothills of the Swartberg range near the town of Oudtshoorn
  • Cango Wildlife Ranch –in existence for 35 years and comprises of over 90 different species of animals. We provide guided tours which are fundamental in our education ethos, providing a voice for each species and creating animal and environmental awareness.

  • Safari Ostrich Farm –the world’s only Tractor Tour at Safari Ostrich Farm. Safari is a working ostrich farm. 
    Day 7: Flight from (Knysna) George to Johannesburg- drive to Pilanesberg

    Enjoy an early morning wake up call, scheduled morning game drive. After game drive have breakfast & take it easy.

    Post which we go out for lunch, before a scheduled afternoon game drive followed by dinner.

    The world-famous Pilanesberg Game Reserve is situated in South Africa’s North West Province, north of Rustenburg. Set inside an alkaline volcanic crater (one of three in the world), characterised by vast ridges, the park’s fascinating rock and history attracts geologists and photographers from all over the world. Pilanesberg is also known for its mammoth achievement of re-introducing numerous long-vanished species and is home to roughly 360 bird species. It is a beautiful place in which to catch sight of the ‘Big Five’ as well as cheetah, giraffe, hippo, zebra, crocodile, and many other animals. Around 360 bird species also inhabit the park. An array of activities is on offer, including guided walks, game drives, and hot-air balloon rides. It is also possible to watch traditional tribal dance performances, participate in music workshops, and enjoy luxury spa experiences.

    Exuding elegance and understated luxury, an Extraordinary encounter with South Africa’s bushveld awaits, located just two hours’ drive from Johannesburg in the Malaria free Waterberg region of the Limpopo Province.     Day 9: Pilanesberg to Johannesburg by road

    Johannesburg is one of Africa’s largest and most vibrant cities. It is the economic capital of Africa and the gateway to Southern Africa. This bustling city offers a wide range of activities, attractions and plenty to do in and around the city including nearby Pretoria. Downtown is a multi-cultural mixture of traditional medicine shops, Chinese restaurants, taxi ranks and ultra-modern skyscrapers.

    There are excellent museums, art galleries and organised tours of historical and political interest.

    The shopping in Southern Africa is a great experience and the many restaurants cater for all tastes.

    Day 10: Departure from Johannesburg

    Today after breakfast pack your bags & check out- private transfer to the airport for flight back home. South Africa’s spectacular beauty will be etched in your hearts forever.

    Say bye- bye to your friends with a promise to meet again!
