RANN OF KUTCH

It is one of the largest salt deserts in the world. The White Rann covers almost 7500 square km of the area. The name ‘Rann’ comes from the word “Viraan” which means deserted wasteland. It’s a treat to the eyes to see white salt marsh for as far as your eyes go. This salt desert has a pristine beauty. The crystal white salt desert is beautiful to watch during sunset.
DAY 1: Arrive in Ahmedabad- By air
We will begin our journey from Delhi Airport you will be met by your Tour Manager at the Delhi airport. Arrive Ahmedabad enroute The Statue of Unity. It is the world’s tallest statue at 182 metres (597 ft.) of iconic leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Later check in at hotel take some rest. Evening is free to explore on your own.

DAY 02 – AHMEDABAD
Ahmedabad is Located on the banks of the river Sabarmati; the city was founded by Sultan Ahmad Shah in 1411. Today it is one of the fastest growing cities of India and is an immense
repository of tradition, history & culture. Its famous walled area is one of the finest examples of community living & the city thrived as the textile capital & was nicknamed “Manchester of the East’ in 1888. This multicultural city is home to some of the finest Indo-Sarcenic mosques & Jain temple. We will visit Gandhinagar, Sabarmati and Akshardham Temple and witness the very beautiful Light and Sound show.

DAY 3: Ahmedabad to Dhordho (400 Kms/ 8 hours’ drive)
After breakfast today we will drive to Dhordho for Rann Utsav. This day we will start early at around 8:30 AM from Ahmadabad and leave for Dhordho- The Tent City. Dhordo village has been situated as a last village in the area. Dhordo, has had approx 70 houses, having 450 odd population of communities of Mutva, Sheikh, and Harijan involved in doing the jobs of various handicrafts popularly well known as ‘Banni Handicrafts’ which have become famous world across. A very intricate and expensive embroideries and mud work are done here. Their craftsmanship and artistic works have such excellence that craftsmen/artists have been honoured by national awards. Transfer to White Rann witness the Grandeur of Sunset. Mode of transfer will be our Coach- People who would like to take a camel cart are free to do so.
Return Transfer to Tent City Dhordo
Dinner at respective Dining area

DAY 4: Dhordho
After breakfast visit the villages of Kutch. Amidst the Desert land of infinite dimensions, are suspended, quaint little villages. These are the last villages on the India-Pakistan border. Here you will come across master craft people’ exposing their traditional art, turning our master pieces every day. Their ornaments, clothes, utensils, everything they use – will make you feel as if you have stepped into lifestyle museum leaving you spellbound. Visit the villages of Bhirandiyara for exquisite embroideries, colourful Mug Bhungas, Lippam Kam and Nirona village famous for Rogan art.

DAY 6: Mandvi to Rajkot by road (4 Hours’ drive)
The historic city of Bhuj derives its name from the Bhujiyo Dungar, a hill, overlooking the present day Bhuj town. Bhuj is a typical example of a desert town located
between two geographical features. Bhujiyo Dungar on the east & Hamirsar Lake on the west. Bhuj, the major town of Kutch, is an old city established in 1510. With its surrounding wall, the atmospheric bazaar area, crenellated gateways, old palaces and striking temples, the town still retains a medieval character. From here we will visit Prag Mahal which was constructed by Rao Pragmalji II who appointed a famous architect, Colonel Henry Saint Wilkins to design Prag Mahal. Aaina Mahal Palace was built by Rao Lakhpatji in 1750 AD. Aaina Mahal is a part of a large palace complex. It is a two Storey building with Darbar Hall, hall of mirrors, and suites for royal family. We will proceed to Mandvi which is a beach location after Lunch and Sightseeing.

DAY 7: Depart Rajkot by Air
After breakfast drive to Rajkot, before leaving Mandvi we will visit the eminent
Vijay Vilas Palace and proceed to Rajkot.

Today is the day to transfer to Rajkot Airport and fly
back to Delhi. We guarantee that you will cherish your
