Madurai, situated on the banks of the Vaigai River, is famous for the Meenakshi Temple and is a vibrant cultural hub known for its history, cuisine, and traditions.

DAY 1: Drive to Chidambara Vilas
- Today meet your Tour Director at the Airport and take your flight to Madurai.
- Arrival at Madurai Airport.
- Drive to Chidambara Vilas: A Luxury Heritage Resort, proudly sings glories of its 110 year old existence. The construction was started in the year 1900 and took 7 years to complete. The wood was imported from Burma, lights and mirrors from Belgium, chandeliers from Daman and Diu and tiles from Italy.
- Arrive at Chidambara Vilas by noon, take some rest & enjoy this exquisite property.
- Overnight stay in Chidambara Vilas.
Day 2: At Chidambara Vilas
- Begin with a traditional Chettinad breakfast at Chidambara Vilas’ Interactive Kitchen, where local chefs prepare authentic dishes using local ingredients and traditional techniques. Guests can interact with the chefs and learn about the origins of Chettinad cuisine.
- Visit the Clan Temples – Pillayarpatti, Vairavanpatti,
Iranikovil and Soorakudi, followed by a visit to a Saree
Weaving Centre to see the traditional Chettinad sareemaking process. - After lunch, experience the traditional art of Athangudi tile
making, known for its distinctive handmade tiles. Also see
the Athangudi Glass Palace, famous for its rows of Belgian
mirrors. - Later, join the evening Puja and enjoy a guided tour of the
116-year-old mansion, learning about its history and the
family who built it. - Overnight stay at Chidambara Vilas.
Day 3: Day trip in Thanjavur
- Visit Brihadeshwara temple: Exuding grandeur and richness, this ostentatious architectural marvel is an energy core captivating attention from any corner of the Thanjavur district, that is how grand the structure is.
- It is a Dravidian-style temple located on the southern bank of the Kaveri river. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is also known as Thanjai Periya Kovil, Rajarajeswaram, and Dakshina Meru addressing various storyline by the locals. The temple was conceived between 1003 and 1010AD by Rajaraja I – the emperor of the Chola dynasty reflecting their culture and style. It is one of the largest Hindu temples and amongst the UNESCO World Heritage Sites referred to as Great living Chola temples.
- Return back to Chidambara Vilas.
- Overnight stay in Chidambara Vilas.
Day 4: Chidambara Vilas to Rameshwaram
- After a leisurely breakfast, check out from Chidambara Vilas and drive to Rameshwaram, a sacred town associated with Lord Rama’s journey to rescue Sita from Ravana, aided by the Vaanar-Sena and Hanuman.
- Visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple (Rameshwaram Temple), one of the most revered Hindu temples, associated with Lord Shiva and the Ramayana.
- Visit Dhanushkodi, the “Land’s End” on Pamban Island, connected to mainland Tamil Nadu by the famous Pamban Bridge.
- Evening free for shopping.
- Overnight stay in Rameshwaram.
Day 5: Rameshwaram to Madurai (City tour)
- Check in at the hotel and take some rest.
- Later we will go for Madurai city tour.
- Visit Meenakshi temple- It is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai river in the temple city of Madurai. It is dedicated to the goddess Meenakshi, a form of Parvati, and her consort, Sundareshwarar, a form of Shiva. The history of Meenakshi temple dates back to the 1st century C.E. with scholars claiming it to be as old as the city itself.
- Overnight at hotel in Madurai.

After finishing our Brazil–Peru trip, the feeling of what we’ve done in the last fifteen days is really sinking in.
Suddenly we’re all realising what a tour it truly was, two countries, seven internal flights (some at really odd times!), great shows, local cuisines, finding amazing Indian food restaurants in Brazil and Peru, the Amazon experience, climbing Machu Picchu, a helicopter ride to see the great waterfalls of Iguazu, experiencing the cultures of both countries… and above all, finding and making new friends.
All of this has been possible because of the KV Team.
This was my second trip with you guys, the first one being Japan, which was another great experience and we’re surely going to see the world many more times with you.

Glad to inform that we reached safely last night at 10:30 pm. The trip is fantastic and organised in a very friendly way as if it is a family function.
The itinerary, hotels, buses, drivers and local guides all are excellent and made us feel at home all through the journey.
Bhaskar, the Tour Manager made our trip memorable, with dedication, commitment without any compromise on any matter. Bhasker made everybody feel as if he is our family member so caring and loving all the way. The experience of the Antarctica cruise was unforgettable. Luxury and concern were the hallmarks of the cruise company and KareVoyage who made all the travel arrangements under the superbly watchful eye of Shefali Jain Mishra must be commended for no detail being too small for their attention and no want being too large for them to handle.
