Gateway to Spiti-Kinnaur Valley

Kinnaur – the land of fairy tales and fantasies, has a spectacular terrain of lush green valley, orchards, vineyards, snow clad peaks and cold desert mountains. It is a border district of Himachal Pradesh. Kinnaur is also rich in flora & fauna. The culture and language is different from other parts of the state. Kinnaur, the tribal district of Himachal Pradesh, lies 250 km away from Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh and is situated on the NH – 22 (Hindustan Tibet Road). The landscape of the area varies from lush green orchards of the scenic Sangla Valley to the stark magnificence of the Hangrang Valley. The massive snow-clad ranges that provide a regal dignity to the scene are dominated by the peak of Kinner Kailash. Kalpa is one of the biggest and beautiful villages of Kinnaur. One can enter Kinnaur district at Village Chshora and follow a straight-line road constructed in vertical rock and it is a rare treat to travel on this road which is a great engineering feat.

DAY 1: Delhi – Kumarhatti

Set off on a scenic drive from the vibrant city of Delhi to the peaceful hill town of Kumarhatti, covering approximately 275-300 kilometers. This journey takes you through the fertile plains of Haryana and Punjab before ascending into the lush green hills of Himachal Pradesh. As you leave behind the urban hustle, the landscape gradually transforms into rolling hills and pine forests, offering a refreshing escape. In about 5-7 hours, you’ll arrive in Kumarhatti, a tranquil spot nestled in the hills, perfect for a serene retreat amidst nature’s beauty. 

DAY 2: Kumarhatti – Narkanda

Leave after breakfast and Drive to Narkanda which is approximately 100 Kms. The village of Narkanda has some spectacular attractions making it a must visit location.

Todays drive offers glimpses of the majestic Himalayas, with every turn revealing new panoramas. In about 4-5 hours, you’ll reach Narkanda, a tranquil hill town known for its apple orchards and the stunning Hatu Peak, where the serenity of the mountains provides a perfect retreat.

 Enjoy the Village walk in the evening . Bonfire followed by dinner.

DAY 3: Narkanda

Visit Hatu Tample in the Early morning, come back enjoy your breakfast and freshen up. Visit Milan Devta temple located 2 km away from Kotgarh which is basically dedicated to the deity Deota or Deo and has an awesome infrastructure and architect. Later Visit Tani Jubbar Lake and Enjoy Picnic Lunch at Wilderness.

DAY 4: Narkanda – Kalpa

The Sangla to Kalpa journey is a unforgettable experience that showcases the raw beauty of the Himalayas and provides an insight into the rich culture and heritage of the Kinnaur district. Whether you’re a nature lover, an adventure seeker, or someone seeking tranquility, this road trip is bound to leave you with cherished memories.

DAY 5: Kalpa Sangla

Wake up early to witness the golden sunrise over the Kinner Kailash Range from your balcony. After a hearty breakfast, take a short drive to the iconic Suicide Point, a dramatic cliff offering breathtaking views of the deep valley below. Capture the surreal beauty of this spot, but tread carefully as you soak in the grandeur of the mountains. From here, begin your scenic journey to Sangla, driving alongside the pristine Baspa River.

Experience the charm of the Banjara Camp in Sangla, nestled amidst the lush Baspa Valley and surrounded by towering mountains. This serene retreat offers luxury cottages, blending comfort with nature’s beauty.

Enjoy the sound of the flowing Baspa River, and spend your evenings around a warm bonfire under a starlit sky.

DAY 6: Sangla- Chitkul-Sangla

Spend your morning in the lap of nature and enjoy the sound of birds chirping all around. Have breakfast and we will leave for Chitkul which is the last inhabited village near the Indo-China border. The Indian Road ends here. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal. One the way back we will be treated with Picnic Lunch at the beautiful water stream. Relax and enjoy your day.

Day 7: Sangla- Sarahan- Rampur

Start your day with an early morning walk to Batseri Village, a quaint hamlet known for its traditional wooden houses, apple orchards, and the soothing sound of the Baspa River. Immerse yourself in the serene village life before beginning your journey to Sarahan, home to the revered Bhimakali Temple, a stunning example of Himachali architecture and spiritual significance. After exploring the temple and soaking in the peaceful surroundings, continue to Nau Nabh Heritage in Rampur, where you’ll stay for the night. In the evening, wander through the bustling local market, indulge in regional delicacies, and savor the charm of this historic town. Relax and enjoy the warm hospitality of your heritage stay.

Day 8: Rampur-Mashobra

In the morning have your breakfast.

Begin your morning with a visit to the historic Suntemple in Rampur, an ancient marvel dedicated to the Sun God, showcasing exquisite Himachali architecture and intricate carvings. After soaking in the spiritual vibes and the serene surroundings, embark on your journey to Mashobra, a charming hill station near Shimla. The drive takes you through winding mountain roads, lush deodar forests, and picturesque landscapes. Upon reaching Mashobra, unwind amidst the tranquil ambiance and explore its serene trails, making it the perfect end to a day filled with culture and nature.

Day 9: Mashobra

In the morning have your breakfast.

A relaxing day in Mashobra, nestled in the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, offers a perfect blend of tranquility and natural beauty. Start your day with a peaceful walk through the lush green pine forests. The crisp mountain air and the sounds of nature will invigorate your senses. Enjoy a hearty breakfast with stunning views of the surrounding valleys.

Day 10: Mashobra- Delhi

Leave early from Kufri and start your journey towards Delhi. Back home by the evening with sweet memories of the trip.
