One of the most breathtaking parts of the Lower Danube is the Iron Gates Gorge, a natural border between Serbia and Romania, where the river cuts through towering cliffs. This section is home to the famous Decebalus Rock Sculpture, one of the largest rock carvings in Europe. Along the Bulgarian side, cities like Vidin and Ruse showcase well-preserved fortresses, Ottoman influences, and elegant architecture.
